Default Steroids and Type2

I knew I was borderline T2 for a few years but my diet has been very good at delaying the full thing. I have had pernicious anaemia and under-active thyroid for 12 yrs and they tend to go with T2 as an auto-immune mal-function. By the way, I will soon be 60 years old. In Sept I had a really bad L5 disc prolapse and my specialist did a caudal epidural steroid injection under general anaesthetic. Not much effect on the disc problem but within days I suddenly lost about 12lb in weight and was feeling lethargic, sleepy and generally unwell. My Dr ordered blood tests and it showed I have become T2. I started metformin this week. Blood glucose is fluctuating dramatically but I guess it will settle down as I get the dose right and make dietary adjustments.
Has anyone else had steroid-induced T2?
