Default Fasting Blood Sugar issue

4th pregnancy, 2nd one with GD. My fasting one was my issue. I've found an egg or chicken salad sandwich on 1 slice whole grain bread helped. But I'm also on bedtime insulin. Anyone have any other tricks to lower fasting sugars? Weekends are the worse cause I sleep in late. Can go as high as 110. Rare but it's happened. I'm still in 92% range. They want you within 75.

That's my worst too. I could never keep it low on my own so I finally had to take a super small dose of medicine at night

110 is great!!! I'd tell that nurse to go to hell. No one can be a 75 fasting. That's a beyond ridiculous goal for an adult. It's just Big Pharma making more money and your doctor getting a free Hawaiian vacation for pushing drugs. Wake up honey!!!

I had the same problem. Make sure for your bedtime snack you're eating a serving of protein and 15 grams of carbs. Your fasting glucose is high because of the rebound effect when it gets too low overnight while you're sleeping.
