My opinion is you can never initially diagnose diabetes with BGL meter. My daughter checks hers on my meter to see where she is but I have had her tested and she was not Diabetic.

The test may be the glucose tolerance test the Dr gives you which you will be tested and then drink a hi sugar content concoction then test.a short time later to see what your body has done to.balance the glucose with your own pancreas produced insulin. It's more conclusive than checking in the morning BGL test.

Also.note, I am a type 2 and the diabetic health comunity has added a new level called pre diabetic to the list to address early detection. Mine was diagnosed.from the ER when I went in I had severe cramps and nausea and vomiting when the Dr decided.to.test.I.was.over 500 and needed a different monitor to.check.the level. I have made many mistakes since then and learned.way more.than I would have cared to. One other thing to note, you can go.to.bed at 80 and wake up over 200 just sleeping, no, I promise I didn't get up and.sneak to.dairy queen, its what was explained to me.as liver dumping. You can actually go low at.night and your liver dumps glucose thinkig you need rescued. By the time you wake up the number is hi. The way my diabetic nutritionist addressed it is to eat 15 carbs with 4 oz protein like crackers and cream cheese. The cracker holds BGL and the protein makes it take longer to burn. It worked. Funny to think I had to.eat.at 9pm to.get under 120 in the morning.

All that to.emplore you to please see your PCP doc to schedule a.test. if you do.t right it will remove doubt for you and you won't be guessing. I think of you need to you can privately be screened at.the health dept if need be.
