I've founds that the more under control I keep my blood sugar, the more I can tolerate unsweetened breakfast cereals. Some that I like are Shredded Wheat (whole grain wheat is the only ingredient), Fiber One (wheat and corn bran and a small amount of sweetener), and several of the Kashi brand cereals.
Some other favorites of mine:
- bacon, eggs and an English muffin
- bacon with cheesy grits
- diabetic-friendly yogurt with 1/4 cup granola
