Hi everyone, was diagnosed when I was 31 back in 2008 and ignored every single sign I had of it, I guess maybe because I didn't want to believe it. Long story short I woke up in the hospital 2 days later after having a BG of (you may not believe this) 1500 and lived to tell about it. I am grateful to be alive, but have struggled somewhat to still want to believe it. My brother has had it since he was 4, so familiar with the disease. I have gotten much better at this and my average is around 152 now for BG, very happy. It takes discipline and hard work, however never give up hope. A light came on that made me realize how lucky I was and not to mess this up, I was given another chance and here for a reason. It does get easier.
