we typically check our BG fasting and 2 hours after meals. the first thing that fails in a T2DM is the first phase response after eating. what this means is that not enough insulin is secreted just after eating. this causes our BG to be high for 2 to 3 hours after eating. the a1C is a snapshot of the last three months. Chances are, your numbers collected are not capturing when you run high. I can say you are doing a great job judging from your A1C reduction. Chances are you will be more impressed with your next test. The next one will have lower blood sugars in the 3 month snapshot. I doubt the dr. Will increase your medication as long as your numbers improve. Be sure to take your log book with.
