I am 80 years old and was diagnosed with T2 about 12 years ago. Because of numerous falls and severe back problems, I no longer can walk distances without a cane or a rolling walker. I have found that doing chair exercises are very beneficial. My secret is to walk stairs, and while watching TV do my chair exercises during commercials. My doctor has told me to aim for 3500, rather than 10000 steps. I have raised that to 4000 steps each day. My fitbit is a great reminder.
