The previous year my mother died of cancer, she was not a diabetic. During her chemo treatments she was given steroids to help offset the chemo side effects. They told us to watch her BG as steroids and at the dose she was taking will affect/normally raise BG. In the hospital they had to give her insulin shots, but fortunately when we brought her home her BG was low enough we did not have to. We also had to slowly back-off the steroids and did not just stop them suddenly, as this can cause problems as well.
A lot of drugs can affect BG, as well as people differently and of course stress can wreck havoc with your BG as well.
I'm not doctor just relating my experience so you should consult your doc.
