Default Metformin and Dawn Syndrome

Metformin can take several weeks to fully kick in and the most common side effects are digestive issues but they should clear up over time. Not sure if the doc explained it but Metformin causes the liver to cut back on the glycogen that it puts into your system when your sugar gets low. That's one of the main causes for high bg fasting readings in the morning.

I'm on 2000mg of Metformin a day. 1000mg with breakfast and 1000mg with supper. My standard fasting numbers now are in the 80's or 90's.
