Most of the older people crave sweets. As we get aged, we lose our taste buds and thus the older people have fewer taste buds than they once had. older bodies lose their fat soon and as we all know ,sweets are high in calories so they can increase an elderly person's weight. So totally there’s nothing wrong in that, but they should not exceed the limit (strict limit if they have diabetes). My dad had this habit of eating more sweets when he was staying with me and I used to scold him, but he was not diabetic. He still eats a normal amount of sweet provided by the care centre where he is staying now.
