I am a 67 year old male who was diagnosed with Type II diabetes at the age of 47. At the outset I met with a dietitian who recommended a low carb diet with fruit at each meal and at least 20 minutes of exercise daily. Now my exercise is down to 15 minutes per week, not good, but I still maintain the same low carb diet. I see my endocrinologist every three months and I also take 50 MG's of Januvia daily. At my last appointment, 10/5, my blood sugar was 108 and my A1C was 6.7. I need to start exercising again on a daily basis as I need to loose about 10 pounds. My doctor believes that if I was to loose at least 10 pounds my A1C may improve by at least.1.
