Default High am readings

Blood sugar readings are typically higher in the am. The body works in such a way that the cortisol levels spike overnight lending to a higher reading in the am. I also take chol. medication. I am not sure if there is a correlation, perhaps asking your MD. I also find that if I have a 1 carb choice HS snack, which my diabetic educator told me to do, my blood sugars are a little higher in the am then if I do not have that snack. Peoples bodies are different and react differently. Also, the amount of insulin you are producing may also have some effect. I found diabetic education plus talking with my Dr. usually gives me the answers I need. I know there is a lot of hype out there saying chol. medications add to or cause diabetes. Sometimes it is hard to know what to believe.
