I am also new to type 2, less than a month. I am doing low carb and my numbers stay pretty good all day but go up when I sleep. My doctor said high sugars at night are due to my fatty liver and that it takes time for your body to stop being insulin resistant.... Told to just keep staying low carb and it will keep improving . My day numbers go between 108-140 and overnight sometimes as high as 158. One night I was 118 before bed and 158 in the morning! I didn't understand how that was possible. Good luck!
