Hi Diane,

This is my first post in the forums, but I read your intro and felt like I wanted to respond.

I believe I was diagnosed around 2000 at age 36. I once had a doctor tell me that since I didn't get gestational diabetes during any of my three pregnancies, that I may never get it... despite family history. I have been overweight all of my life but, besides obesity, was quite healthy. At first, I controlled my diabetes completely with diet and exercise (lost over 100 pounds) and was my doc's "poster child." Lost control after 9/11... just didn't care anymore.

I tried to get control back the same way, but it wasn't working... so I started the pills. Had a reaction to Metformin and was changed to insulin. I STILL cannot eat as the diabetes educator prescribed for me and get my BG down.

I've been using Glucose Buddy for a while now. I really like it... especially when the doctors want me to "prove myself." I hope you like it just as well as I do. The records you keep will be invaluable in assisting with getting/keeping your diabetes in control. I'm still working on getting control (again) and I am thankful for this tool to help me.
