The sooner you face this beast down, the sooner you'll begin to fight this silent killer of freedom, health, and life itself. I waited almost too long, and now have some of the complications that arise from my own self imposed ignorance of this problem. Have finally begun to move on and watch my glucose, weight and exercise more to help increase my metabolism and lower insulin requirements, and other medications (not perfect, but never give up; always start a new, each day, one after the other). You will control diabetes, or it will control your entire life to the negative!
Please except this as an encouragement to stand, and fight with the rest of us. No one takes better care of you than yourself so begin now!
Has any one checked out the Fitness Buddy (FB) application. It's free, and it has help me find a variation in exercise to keep from getting bored.
Partner, I encourage you to start slow and begin to catch control of your sugars. A mild exercise program would scare you as to the aid it is in keeping things lower than they are at present. Maybe try a brisk walk 3-5 times a week: 15 minutes in one direction and turn around for a brisk walk back. You will have exercised for 30 minutes with your (Cardio/Pulmonary rate) heart beat breathing rate up for a 20 minute span required to begin a weigh control program alone (don't mean to imply anyone has excess-LoL). It's a start! You could help yourself by getting a diabetic carb counting book from a local county public health center. I have found portion size to be my biggest downfall, since one can pretty much eat what you want within reason as long as you keep up with carbs/portion size which are pretty much in ½ cup sizes at 15 carbs for most foods, but not all (60-70carbs per meal 3-4 times a day with couple of 15 carb snacks in between). It becomes easier as time goes on and you learn the carb/portion of foods you eat: one becomes more accustom to the routine. It's amazing how much you can eat counting carbs, and stay regulated better than you are now.
Talk to your doctor about this carb counting before you begin it, and right after you decide to stop deceiving yourself.
Just grab yourself by the neck my friend and do it!
