I was diagnosed ten years ago with an A1C of 8.3 and was supposed to be controlling with diet and exercise, In the last year I let it all slide, and my fasting glucose 4 weeks ago was 263. I went to a nutritionist/naturopath and she put me on a dairy free/grain free diet and my numbers are now incredible. Fasting this morning was 100, yesterday 99, and the day before 102 (even during an incredibly stressful point in my life). I'm allowed most veggies, lots of salad, protein in the way of fish, chicken, turkey, beef, pork, and eggs. Also can have almond butter which I now prefer to peanut butter. Usually put it on an apple for snacks. On, and no more than two fruits a day. Have also dropped weight as well. Good luck. Marlene
