you can call the sales dept of each company and they will literally take care of everything. they will go through your insurance to see what you're eligible for, whether it's covered at 100% or what any deductibles/out of pocket expenses will be, etc. this will probably take a couple of days, max.
then, the next step is they'll call your Endo for a prescription which can be faxed.
now, since you have an appt with your Endo in April, I would probably wait to discuss with him/her first - that way this isn't coming out of left field.
and no, unfortunately, I don't think you can get any $ back for the paradigm - but you can always call Medtronic and ask. most insurances will pay for a new pump every 4 years, or sooner if you have a good enough reason (for example, for me, the paradigm buttons would keep getting stuck when I wore it during exercise because I'd sweat all over it).
