insulin will always make you gain weight - that's the vicious cycle we see in T2s on insulin who also need to lose weight.

are you also on Metformin? this might reduce the amount of daily needed insulin (by decreasing the amount of glycogen released by the liver) and you might want to talk to your Dr about it.

Another option would be Symlin which is another hormone injection that slows gastric emptying - a lot of T2s lose weight on Symlin. You take it before meals.

Lastly, good ol' exercise and calorie reduction always works for weight loss - there's just no way to get around it.
