Hi Melani - just want to make sure you understand to count carbs, not just "sweet" stuff.
cheerios, fruit, milk - ALL have carbs... I'm not saying they're bad - there's no "good" or "bad" foods... only things that will affect your blood sugar in different ways.
most importantly, sugar free is NOT always carb free - just keep that in mind.
low carb diets are very helpful for people with T2, but they're also extremely important for energy and cell metabolism, so don't starve yourself of ALL carbs. you might want to look into the concept behind high vs low glycemic index foods and go from there...
good luck!!
