Woke up at 243, took glip,,,waited 30 minutes, retested at 274. That seems wrong! Shouldn't it lower my sugar?

My numbers are in the 3-400 range with met/glip. I can't see hie eating 60 grabs of carbs for breakfast and dinner and 45 for lunch is going to bring my counts down but that what the docs are asking...

Numbers for glucose are in the 330-466 range. Have metformin 500mg with breakfast and dinner.

Suggestions on lowering a spike?

Hope to learn a lot. My numbers are in the 3-460 range right now. Open to ideas on what to do when I get those high spikes to get them down.
