Very simple choice for me.
Enjoy mostly water, club soda, and seltzer. Will only drink fruit juice to counteract a hypo.
BTW, I have lost almost 65 lbs in less than 2 years.

Stopped all alcohol, very rarely have sugary drinks. Just enjoy water and club soda or seltzer.

Didn't tolerate Byetta

Byetta often made me nauseous and I sometimes vomited. I stopped taking it after 2-3 months. I actually don't remember if the drug was working.

My endo put me on Victoza and it seemed to be a good move. Despite avoiding severe forms of the common side effects, I had to get off Victoza. The drug increased my resting heart rate by 20-30 beats....

Do the Insulin

I don't think putting off insulin is a good idea since high gls could lead to nerve damage and severe eye and foot problems. Many T2s have tried Byetta and Victoza with varying degrees of success....
