So what is the ideal HbA1c value for a diabetic?
In the US my doc suggests I should keep it under 6; In India, some docs insist that the value be between 6 and 7.

Yes it does!

My hba1c was 6.3 before I got on BC pills. 2 months after I started the BC pills, my Hba1c is at 7.3. My doc did tell me that it will impact my sugar levels.
Am on metformin 2000mg as well....

I am a type II diabetic and have been so for the past 7 years.
I am on Metformin 2000mg a day and my most recent HBA1C is 7.3 - I don't diet or exercise as I should and have a stress filled...
