Hi my name is Alexandra "Alex"

I am suffering from profound hypoglycemia since my gastric bypass May 12, 2012.

I usually have no warning that my sugar has dropped till I see flashing lights and check my sugar. It is not uncommon for my sugars at that time to be between 37-44. It is hard to get it back up and then keep it up

I have been told by the doctor to eat anything I can all day long. I eat 3 meals and then literally snack all day.

When I had the gastric bypass I weighed 434, and had dropped to 112 at the height of 5'7". I have leveled my weight off at 138-148, but still have just no control of these sugars!!!

Welcome to the Forum! Congrats on your weight loss! I don't have much experience with your condition, but I have had many lows when I take to much insulin. I always carry Glucose Tablets or candy with me at all times, since I never know when the low will hit. I hope that you do the same. I have found that Sue Bee honey works very well if available and it gets into the system pretty fast as well. If you are tormented by the lows, you could check into getting a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM). (http://www.dexcom.com/)
