Type 2

Was diagnosed with type 2 December 17 2014.
Have been off work waiting for rotator cuff repair since April 2014. Had surgery Jan 5 2015 finally. Wondering if injury and time before surgery played a role in high b s?
Blood test showed level of 34.5. Take 2 metformin twice daily and 18U of insulin at bed time. Levels run an average of 6.7.

Welcome to the Forum! :)

If you were stressing over the surgery, that will drive your blood sugar up. A major injury and the accompanying pain will do the same.

Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.

I have had type 2 diabetes since 1986 and still don't have neuropathy but have my kidneys involved with creatinine level around 1.8 so I cannot have oral pills to controls diabetes. I have insulin coverage 5 times a day now and am brittle fluctuating 83 to 363 I've the last month. My HGB A1C was 7.2 in August. I have been logging my blood sugars 3 to 4 times a day on Glucose Buddy and benefit from the graphed readings for the last 5.5 months. I also log my diet on my I-phone 4 with myfitnesspal.com and recently started fitbit to help with wt loss and tracking my diet and exercise. Is it possible to sync glucose buddy with myfitnesspal.com & fitbit. My lifestyle is active but logging on three apps gets tedious???
