New Buddy

Hi all,
New to this. Am actually from Singapore, and spent some time reading all the useful sharing sand comments and decided to officially join.

Just some background to me:
49yo male, insulin-dependent currently on combi of Glargine and Apidra.
Try to lead an active lifestyle (gym + swim + dragon-boater).
Looking to learn more about better control of BG and A1c, as well as the possibility of a pump.
My days start early (6am) and usually end by 3pm as I teach kids between 13-17 years (Middle School in the USA educational system), unless I have after-school activities and meetings.
I try to go to the gym at least 3-4x a week for about 1.5.
Have had issues of hypo, but my A1c results have not been too good either (8.0) at the last check.

Regards,
Edward

Edward, welcome to the Forum! :)

Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.
