New user & newly diagnosed

I've been pre-diabetic since 2006 and my A1C just topped 6.5 (I was 6.8) so I now have type 2 diabetes.

I plan to use glucose buddy pro to track my BG so I can share it with my doctor.

Gary;

Welcome to the Forum! :)

Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.

Thanks Danny, just found and read that section of the forum.

I've been trying that. I've been doing regular exercise for years and just starting watching my carbohydrate intake.

Attended a diabetes a self management class and a local hospital. They told me after meal glucose level can be 100-150, and for the most part I'm very close to that.

Gary;

It sounds like you are doing well. I try to keep my out of bed reading between 70-99 and my after meal readings at less than 140. Good luck with your control and management.
