Graph (Lower/Upper Limit)

When you look at the graph on an iphone/ipad you see a few things.

High average and low BG numbers for each day.
Carbs (if is checked)
A highlighted green area over 5.5bg (appears to go from 5-6 or so).

I am going to assume this is supposed to be your Target BG numbers correct?

From what i can tell there is no way to change your target inside the app. Only on the web page. Unfortunately the web page one does not download to the app.

Why cant we cahnge this range? everyone is different so it seems odd that the app would dictate our target range?

Or is this green highlight something different that i am just overlooking?

You would be correct in your assumption. The green area "target range" (~90 mg/dl to ~120 mg/dl) on the GB App graph is pretty much the standard for all people with diabetes. Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. Pay particular attention to the Blood Sugar 101 thread. From the web link look for "Healthy Blood Sugar Targets", you may change your mind about wanting to change the target range after you do some research.

Good luck with your control and management.

I am using the app to log / monitor my daughter who is 1 year old with T1D.

While I can appreciate that 90-120 is the "standard" it is my understanding that Bg target level are different for kids, (and more so in someone who is only 1). We are simply going by what the Pediatrician has recommended.

I wasn't aware that this was for an infant. I am sure that your Pediatrician knows best. I am reasonably sure that there are some threads on this in the "Parents of children with diabetes" section. Good luck with your daughter's control and management.

No Worries.
My question was specific to the app, so I figured this would be the right place to look for an answer.

It seems that there is simply no option to change the upper/lower range inside the app (only on the website).

Not that it matters much as its just a visual thing, but it would be nice to have it set to the correct numbers.

I too object to the inability to change the target BS range in the GB app.
The American Diabetes Association has a target range or 70-130 mg/dl, this is the range I would think would be best for most people, but perhaps not for the author of BS 101. (she has a book to sell about why she thinks this range is correct....)
I think the ADA relies on info from the Mayo Clinic which I feel is more reliable.
Just my two cents on the matter.

Note how nicely the GB Target Range (90-120, Ave 105) falls in the average (100 mg/dl), of the target range that you previously mentioned.

The Point is....

...the user should be able to adjust the viewable "green range" in the app to the range their Doctor recommends. Then, when viewing the graph the user can quickly see that their readings are within their range. Having the range lower as it is now gives the user the potentially false impression that they are not managing their blood sugar very well.
