Hi, my name is Tony I'm a 59 year old male and I was diganosed with type 2 the first of this year. I started trying to loose weight in December of 2012 and have lost close to 30 pounds but for the past three months it's like I don't have the same desire to lose the weight anymore. I need to lose about 60 more pounds. :eek:
Suffering with afib, high blood pressure, and depression does not help because I get down on myself and somedays give up. Plus there was a great deal of stress in my life for the past year but that is almost over now. I'm scared and that is so hard to admit. I took the first step then quit. I really need to start again and keep going. |
Tony;
Welcome to the Forum! :) Congratulations on your weight loss! Hopefully you will get back on the wagon soon. Your body will thank you, down the road. Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management. |
Tony, I think losing 30 pounds is quite an accomplishment! I'm working on weight loss, too, and so far have only lost 15. Like you, I also still have quite a way to go. I also suffer depression. We'll get it done. Don't give up!
