I haven't been to my endo in a year.
 

The reason I joined this app/community is because I know that while I've had a smooth ride w diabetes, I'm starting to creep into a more routine life. I have a stable job, live on my own (I'm 24) don't party or travel as much and am finally tied down to a location. My last endo was always rude and his office was depressing as it was always filled w old people who don't want to take care of themselves. Problem is, I've avoided going to find a new endo w new insurance...now that I'm back I really need to see a nutritionist and an endo for full tests as my numbers have started to spike on a regular basis. Anyway, I feel totally guilty about it and dont want to go to the endo without adequate info so I'm trying to get back on tracking my daily activities. Are there any others (young folks too) that get stressed out about not being on top of things? It's irrational but I don't want the dr to chastise me for falling behind, I just want to smooth out my lifestyle before it becomes a real problem. Should I go without the records? Or should I continue tracking and go in a month?

I agree with you that it is so hard to go to Dr. and feel like they are judging you for not being "good enough". Or a failure, a bad diabetic so to speak! Why do they think that helps? It is a total discouragement ! I would track for a month and then go see your Endo. Probably better results that way! Hang in there ! We all need to start over at times.

Hi there. I know it is hard to see a doctor about diabetes for any reason because it seems they are always out there to judge you. I have been a diabetic for 27 years. Started off so well. In the last few years my diabetes has been out of control. You have to stay strong and keep an eye on your sugars as they will eventually catch up with you. I just had 1 foot amputated. It was the hardest thing I have ever gone through.
