Hello, I am new here

I am not one to visit or use such forums much, but thought it might be helpful to start here. I was diagnosed a couple of years ago, but have had little success finding help in the medical community. I have Hep C and that tends to distract them. They seem to want to focus on that rather than helping me with my blood sugar issues. I am dismayed by what seems to be a wait and see attitude. I go in, we talk, they give me Rx and say "come back in 3 (or for one, 6) months, at which time they do an A1c, and give me the same instructions. Come back in 3/6 months. So far, after 3 years and 4 doctors, I'm no better controlled than before. I am on Glipizide and Junevia, with some Lisinopril for my BP issues... these have been the standards for 2 years now. I am very discouraged and frightened. I am having other problems now. My PCP told me he'd refer me to an endocrinologist, but that was almost 2 weeks ago, and I am still waiting. They are in no hurry, but in the meantime, I am now experiencing spells of dizziness that do not seem to correspond to my BG or BP. But that's what they are focusing on...
So, here I am, ready to review this site, hoping to find some ideas and information. :D

Welcome to the Forum! :)

Self education is one of the keys to successfully managing diabetes. Please read the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, as soon as your can. This information will help as you begin your diabetes education. Learn to count carbs, exercise and test often, these three things work very well for "beating down" the high blood glucose levels. Good luck with your control and management.
