I am assuming that you are sick at the moment. I base this on the fact that you are taking antibiotics, which usually means infection. This generally causes high blood sugars, as you describe, while the body is fighting off the infection. It usually lasts for about three (3) days, in my past experiences. Good luck and get better soon.

It can also be the steroids. I am not sure what kind you are taking but I am assuming an albuteral inhaler maybe. At my job we can't give steroids to a diabetic pregnant woman cause it may raise her bg. I am not sure if all steroids work the same way but it may definitely have an impact as well as the antibiotics

Prednisone

I developed an asthmatic bronchial condition two months ago. Ironically, my primary had just given me the flu shot. The doc gave me antibiotics and cortisteroid inhaler. The doc also gave me prenidsone, a cortisteroid known for raising sugar levels and causing weight gain. Luckily, I was on the prednisone for only 7 days and my gls really didn't spike.
