Getting Acquainted

Hi,

I am new to both Glucose Buddy and diabetes. I was diagnosed in early February. I have the dubious honor of having suffered one of the worst complications long before being diagnosed. Three years ago I had a triple heart bypass. Since then I have constantly had problems with the grafts and have had six stents placed.

Lately, my vision has become blurry and I was about to have cataract surgery. The blood test I got as a pre-op concerned my cardiologist and my PCP. I am now on lantus insulin and metformin.

Since I love my iphone and my mac laptop, I am so happy to find this app and this forum. I have already learned some things by reading the messages.

Welcome to the Forum!

We are glad that you are learning from the forum. Has your vision gotten some better since starting the insulin?

Yes, my eyesight has improved a lot. I was scared that I was going blind for a while. I still have cataracts which will have to be removed some day, but not until I get completely under control.

That is good to hear! I thought that may be the case, when I read your original post. When my blood glucose level got out of whack, several years ago, I experienced the blurred vision as well.

I am glad that you are doing better! :)
