Reset IPhone..sync problems

I had to reset my IPhone to factory settings..now I cannot get GB to sync with my GB on my IPad..
In the Account info..I added my account name and what I thought was my password..nothing. If I can't remember what my password is..is there a way to change it on both devices and still keep all my info??
