prediabetic/ borderline diabetic

Hi, I'm new to testing and everything. I was wondering if anyone could explain the difference between prediabetic and borderline diabetic and how they relate to type 2. I'm kinda confused if I should act diabetic and live by all the same rules or just test randomly. ( like how dr's tell you if you think you might be pregnant, act like you are to be on the safe side.) I'm not sure what to do right now.

If you are pre-diabetic then the possibility exists that you will be diabetic in time. You don't want this if you can keep from it. If the doctor has told you to loose weight I would advise doing so. Read and learn all you can about your condition. Start with the link above, then go to the Type 2 Section and read the Blood Sugar 101 thread. Good Luck!
