Glucose Buddy Forum - Gestational Diabetes at 10 wks w/possibility of Type 2

Hi Everyone,

My name is KT and I'm new to GB. I am very happy to have discovered this APP. I am currently 12 wks pregnant w/my 2nd child and was diagnosed w/Gestational Diabetes at 10 wks. Because of the early detection (of GD) my docs are assuming that I may have had Type 2 prior to the conception of my 2nd child. Both my parents are Type 2 diabetics. I test my BGL 4 times a day and am currently on Glyburide 2.5 mg twice a day (prior to breakfast and before bedtime). My BGL is still all over the place but not as bad as before the medication.

Discovering that I may possibly be Type 2 is a really chilling idea. I was a little depressed at first to discover I had GD, but after seeing a nutritionist and discovering diabetic friendly recipes and websites, I am coping a little better. I hope to learn, share, and support w/you all more in the near future! Good luck to everyone.
