I take my reading at 5:05 am go back to bed have no food or drink an when over up at 7:00 am the reading is 7.7. Why

You didn't say what your reading was at ~5AM, but I assume that it was less than the 7.7 at 7AM that you did mention. If this is the case, then you may be experiencing the dawn phenomenon. Here is a link. I hope that it answers your question.
