Problem logging food
Hi, In my iphone app I'm trying to log in food. It takes the name of the food, but won't take the grams, which I assume would be how many grams of carbohydrate. This is a new app for me, so I must be doing something wrong and the manual is not coming up for me. Please tell me how to log in food correctly. Thanks:confused:

Try something simple first: Under Food; Add Food; Press + in the top right hand corner; Type in a name {I use Carb. (grams)} and save the food. Then under Pick Food(s) you should be able to pick the food (when done successfully you will see a check mark on the right hand side), then press Add Log at the top left, this takes you back to Add Log menu where you should be able to input the grams. I hope it helps!

So once you have input the food and the amount, where can you see it later? I don't see food listed anywhere on the website. I'm trying to keep track of what I ate as well as the number. I don't see the food entry anywhere on the site. Just the number. How can I see the the food description?

You should be able to see the food in my logs the same as your blood glucose readings. It will be a seperate line item, the same as meds, etc.

I don't see that at all Danny.
Under My Logs then View Logs I see: Type - Value - Name - Event - Date - Time - Notes - Actions I do not see a column for food. There are check boxes for: A1c - Glucose - Medicine - Food - Activity - Pressure - Weight All are checked but nothing is listed. When if I uncheck them, they have NO effect on the log. Nothing changes. Am I looking in the correct place? I am using Safari 5 on Mac OS X 10.6.4 |
Here is what the food logs looks like. http://www.glucosebuddy.com/forum/pi...3&pictureid=12

I checked My Logs, in Safari, it looks the same. I hope the information helps!

Yes I have that. I see the F entries on your post. I don't have those. I guess I'm a bit confused as to how to add food entries on the iPhone. I get how to do the Glucose entry. Not the Food entry.
|
The food entries are a bit different from the blood glucose entries. Under Add Logs; Food; Add Food; Add Log; Create a food called Carbs. (grams), then pick that food each time you input your food. This method is very simple and lets you keep up with your food by logging carbs. However, to effectively use this method, you will need to learn to carb count.

Got it. Thanks!

must you count grams?
so if you don't enter the grams of the food you enter, does the food not appear in the log?
we're not diagnosed with diabetes yet, so we're just trying to track what we're eating, rather than how much (at least at this point) trying to see if our little boy lives on the high side of normal, or is prediabetic thank you! |
I don't think that it will show up.
It is not that hard to track the food in carbs. The child will be no different than an adult, he just won't eat as much and his carbs will be lower. Try MyNetDiary it is a free App and will do it all, including the carb info for input into Glucose Buddy. I hope the info helps. |
Problems logging food
I'm trying to add a value to my food entry and it keeps giving me an error message " One or more of the entries has an error. FOOD must be >0 and <=300" and the value for the food item is only 54. Any suggestions?
