Downloading Data from Website back to Iphone
 

Does anyone know how to download the data from the website back into the IPhone. My ipod touch was stolen and I have a new Iphone but the app was not on Itunes. So I have all my data on line and want to get it back into my new phone and freshly installed Glucose Buddy on my phone. Any ideas?

There is currently no two (2) way sync. The sync is one (1) way only.

I'm new with Ipod and this app. Please provide a step-by-step instructions on how to download from Ipod to the website. I'm frustrated of my ignorance more than the process. I can't make it work!!! Thank you.

Uploading Data; From the App to the Website
 

Add Log; "Input" the log data.
Save; Save the data by clicking the "Save" button in the upper right corner of the screen, by doing this, the App will take you back to to main screen.
You will see a number (in a circle this is the number of data logs to upload) in the upper right corner of the "Quick Sync" button.
Tap the "Quick Sync" button, once.
You will get a "Sync Status" message saying that "You have successfully syncronized your logs. :)"
Click the OK button, you are done.

Is there any plans to have two-way syncing?

Eventually, I think that there will be a two way sync. They are working towards that goal.

A two way sync would be magnificent.
Or even maybe a way to import the CSV from the website to the phone / iPad. Very relevant when getting a new ipad / phone.
I was using another way to record my logs and have it in CSV but entering all the data is very time consuming and not very accurate.

True Two Way Sync became available with the installation of the latest version, ie. GB 3.6.0. :)

i have 3.6.5 version of GB and i cant figure out the 2 way sync,
from wedsite to my iphone, i see all my data on my web site but i can not seem to figure out how to get it back on my phone. :confused:

Did you purchase the "two way sync" add-on?

Yes I know, I just did this, in settings you can touch sync all, this is a add on and is extra, it allows two way sync. I deleted my app and had to do this. Took me all day to read through forum to remember how but it works, just re-populated my iPhone app.

Also you have to fill out the my info and setting as you have them on the web or you old app. You won't have to pay again because iTunes keeps you pay information. :)

It's located on the first page of the GB App Main Menu. Click on the icon called "Premium Goodies". :)

I think the price of that add-on is a little steep.

Great so am I correct...I just spent almost 2hours downloading my results to the website & have no way of retrieving them via my iPhone :confused:

When you say "downloading to the website" do you mean that you key punched this information to the website?

If that is the case; then you will need the two-way-sync to put this information into the iPhone App.

Go to "SETTINGS" then click "SYNC ALL LOGS" works a treat

I agree, $12.99 is way too expensive for a feature that should be available as part of the app.

Clicking "SYNC ALL LOGS" only syncs FROM the device to the web site, so if you haven't entered any values on the device, you get an error that there are no logs to sync.

Wait until you loose two years of data, because of a iPhone crash, and have to key punch ~7,000 data records, the price then becomes negligible. Don't ask me how I know! (Been there and done that. Shhh..) ;)

I believe that the previous poster was referring to the two-way-sync, since clicking on the "SYNC ALL LOGS" then works both ways.

According to the website comparing GB to the competition, desktop sync is suppose to be FREE. You need to update your website to reflect the correct information, $12.99/year is crazy! I just downloaded this app and thought is was going to be perfect. With all these annual add-on costs I may reconsider....

The app is FREE! The add-on's cost money. What makes you think that I need to update the website? I am a HAPPY USER, unlike YOU! If you don't like the app, then don't use it!

I like the app and think it could be useful. I just think $12.99/yr is pricy for the add-on. The website is also misleading, it states that "desktop syncing is free" when it really costs $12.99/yr.

I will have to agree with you and it has been mentioned several times on the forum. I didn't get the add-on until I needed it, during an iPhone crash. Until that time, the app worked great in it's free version. It still works great for my use and I have tried several apps. None compare for my use. Your Mileage May Vary.

$12.99 to allow 2-way sync? I see this in Top In-apps but can't find it for down;oad.

Look in the "Premium Goodies".

$12.99 per year smacks of bottom feeding.

But its $12.99 for ONE YEAR. How many times would someone need to do a 2 way sync? The price is too high for what starts out as a free app. I'd rather pay $3.99 for an app than have something start out as being free and then find they nickel and dime you until you have spent a relative fortune. Hey for $3.99 I can get rid of the adds which help pay for the app and that is fair, but this? Sorry.

Other than that, this is a useful app and I'm glad I have it. Just feel less compelled to shell out money for any of this companies other products in case they too have similar must-have features as steep as this.

Purchase of the add-ons is not mandatory. If you don't need the two-way-sync there is no reason to purchase it. I didn't get it until I needed it. I am glad that it was there if/when I needed it. Some need it and some don't, either way the app is still free and that is why I use it. Your Mileage May Vary.

I just bought the $3.99 in-app which allows sync between the glucosebuddy.com website and my iPhone. I input all my data on the website and it's not syncing to the phone!

On the phone, under "settings", I hit "sync all logs" and it does not sync what's on the site onto my phone.

Any help?

So this step is missing from my settings tab:

3. Ensure that "2 Way Sync" is set to "On (Download & Upload)";

When I scroll to the bottom of settings, "2 Way Sync" does not show up. I bought the add-on though!

This is the first time I have heard of this happening, although it does not surprise me. Are you running the latest versions of the software? Try rebooting the iPhone. If it still does not show up, you may have to reinstall the GB App. If you do, be sure to use the same user name and password. Keep us posted with your results.

So I deleted the GB app and then re-installed it. Now the app doesn't recognize that I purchased the add-on.

I also rebooted the iPhone. It is brand new, got it this week.

I entered my account information but that did not do anything. Any other ideas on what I can do? I have everything ready on the website to by synced onto the phone :-(

It simply stores it, as if I could put in random letters and the app would still work. Basically what I'm saying is that when I go into "settings/account info" and input my username/password, nothing happens.

Just a little frustrating because I spent money on an add-on and the app is not even recognizing that any more, let alone syncing properly :-(

Nothing is suppose to happen. The account name and password have to be the same on both the iPhone and the website. This is how they share information. Is your log data currently on the website (ie uploaded from the GB App)?

Yes, my log data is on the website, but I had manually input the data online, not through the GB app on the phone. Currently the GB app has no data and the online website has all the correct data.

I post on my iPad and want it to sync to my iPhone can this info be exchange when you enter data into one of the units. I don't use the website

Yes, take a look at this thread or do a tag search on "two-way-sync". Just remember that the website is where all your data is and that you will most likely have to make a good decision on which device to put the two-way-sync on.

You really should take a look at the website and use it when needed. There are several graphs and you can download the CSV file to create a doctors report if you are interested.
