Help I can't seem to find a solution to bring my numbers down after breakfast. I have tried to eat a variety of foods but am always pulling 10's or higher. Do you have any suggestions?

Exercise; 30 minute walk after breakfast.

walking
Thanks for posting this. It has inspired me to try and do my walking before I take my shower in the mornings before work.

My favorite breakfast!
About a cup in the morning and my BG only jumps 8 to 10 points!
Mango, Coconut and Quinoa Breakfast Pudding James Rohrbacher on Dr. Fuhrman site Serves: 5 Preparation Time: Ingredients: 3/4 cup quinoa 1 1/2 cups water 4 dates, pitted 1 1/2 cups unsweetened soy, hemp or almond milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon 1 (10 ounce) package frozen mango or 2 fresh mangoes, peeled and diced 2 tablespoons Dr. Fuhrman's Mangosteen Fruit Vinegar or other fruit-flavored vinegar 1/8 cup chopped macadamia nuts 1/8 cup black sesame seeds or regular sesame seeds 1 cup packed chopped kale 1 cup packed chopped spinach 1/2 cup dried currants 3 tablespoons unsweetened shredded coconut Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Rinse quinoa and drain in a fine-mesh sieve. In a large saucepan, bring quinoa and water to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until grains are translucent and the mixture is the consistency of a thick porridge, about 20 minutes. In a high-powered blender, blend dates, non dairy milk, vanilla, cinnamon, half the mangoes and mangosteen vinegar. In a large bowl, combine cooked quinoa, blended date mixture, nuts, seeds, kale, spinach, the remaining diced mango and the currants. Pour into a lightly oiled baking pan, (9" X 9" works well) sprinkle with coconut and bake for 30-40 minutes. Best made a day ahead and refrigerated. |
Cheesy Sausage Balls
1 cup Bisquick baking mix 2 cups whole wheat flour 1 tbsp baking powder 1 package Jimmy Dean Hot Pork sausage (or equivalent) 2 cups grated cheddar cheese 1 8oz brick cream cheese (at room temp) Heat oven to 375F. Combine Bisquick and whole wheat flour and baking powder. Mix remaining ingredients in large bowl. Combine well. The mix may seem a little dry, but that's okay, the sausage will fix that while it bakes. Roll mixture into little balls about 3/4" in diameter. Don't make them too large! Place balls evenly spaced on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375F for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown. Enjoy! These also reheat well in the microwave. I find the whole wheat flour provides plenty of fiber to reduce the carb count somewhat. These can be addictive, so try to eat fewer than 6 at a meal. They are quite filling, and oh so tasty! |
Try to drink a cup of water with lemon, every morning. This will wake up your body quicklier.

I always have yogurt bowls for breakfast:
greek yogurt fresh fruit honey nuts of your choice a spoon of granola |
Oatmeal, fruit, granola and eggs usually start my day off but if I am on the go I keep my refrigerator stocked with Glucerna shakes which you can find at your local Walgreens or CVS store.

I recommend a glass of lemon and honey with warm water. Drinking it before your break fast is very good for your health.

Healthy BreakFast Ideas
Hello Everyone,
Eat this and stay healthy... Savory Oatmeal With an Egg Take oatmeal to a whole new level by making it savory. Prepare as usual with milk or water, but add a pinch of salt and pepper instead of any cinnamon or sugar. Then top with an over-easy or poached egg and sprinkle on a little cheese for an extra tasty kick. Tomato Toast With Macadamia Ricotta Here’s a healthier take on a classic breakfast sandwich: Take 2 slices of a hearty whole-grain bread, spread each slice with 1 tablespoon of homemade macadamia ricotta cheese, and sprinkle with shiso or basil, kosher salt, and fresh cracked pepper to taste. Add 1-2 hearty slices of fresh heirloom tomatoes (blotted with paper towel to remove excess liquid) and enjoy. |
