Android
I just downloaded the version for the android, and I discovered that you have a desktop application also that will sync with the droid version. After trying various droid programs - very good ones, I might add - This program appears to be what I'm looking for because it covers all the bases, and it has a potential to sync with the desktop. The Jury's still out on the "reports" end of it, because I've just started using the application. I want to be able to print out the logs & reports to take to the doctor with me. The E-Mail thingee is nice, but I'm a VA patient, and they don't use E-Mail as we know it (for patient interaction) If you make the desktop application as slick as you made the Android application, and allow them to sync 2-way, I'd be willing to buy it. Keep me posted Ray M. |
I disagree about syncing with the desktop version
I'm not sure when you tried to sync with the desktop version. On a mac, everything seems to work as expected. However, on Android, when you tap to sync with the online version (I'm assuming that's what you mean by the desktop version because I haven't seen one you can install yet) it says "coming soon".
Not sure what you mean by you can sync with Android? At work I can't log in to glucosebuddy because it and most other sites are blocked because they are not approved sites. I was eagerly awaiting the Android version as I don't have an iphone, but now I have to wait until I come home to enter the data since I can't update to the website from my Evo. |
When are we going to be able to synch with Android

Sync issues
Okay can the data sync on multiple devices ??
Say for example i enter the data and it gets uploaded to the online account fine. What happens if my wife has a iphone too and wants to see the data i upload i use the same user name and password on her device but it says no log data ??? Best ram |
On next update can you make it so it can move to the sd card? Othe than That love the app. Had it since I had an ipod touch 1st gen, now on android.

How can I print out or email my glucose logs so I can share with my doctor?
|
Please Sync with Android App Version
I agree with the others, I would even pay if you had this option!

If the CSV file is identical to the data that the GB web site exports, then it will work with no modifications. If the file is different, I'll have to modify the code to work on the andriod version.
Could someone email me a sample of some android data? 2twisty@gmail.com |
Sync Logs function still in works?
Looking forward to this option being released. Having to hand type and click each log into the website version for long term record keeping and report generation for the doctor is a bit of a hassle. Especially if you forget to update but once a month.
Any word on the Sync Logs option between the phone app and the website might be ready? Thanks for the great app and site BTW! |
I like the app but...
Being an Android phone user, I'd like to see more support for the Android platform. Features such as syncing logs with the Glucose Buddy website or the ability to import logs to the phone app from a csv. The graphs are great, but I just spent an hour entering data on the web site, but now have no way to import or sync the logs with my phone.
I would even pay for such functionality. Thanks for listening! |
syncing
When will we see the same features on android as on the iphone version. I recently upgraded to a Galaxy s4 from an iphone and used this app on the iphone. I would like to see the sync feature added.

Pro Version?
Will there b a pro version for Android soon?
Love the idea of Synking my smart phone with the website. specialy when trying to view and print the graph for my monthly Averages. LOVE THE APP!! |

2-way Synching for Android app
Just to add my t'uppence worth:
Am using both the Android app (free, as no Pro version yet) and also the iOS app on my iPad (Pro version), both of which are outstanding and work in the same way, except the Android version doesn't have 2-way synching with the website. Please can this be sorted very soon? Can anyone from GB comment on whether this is likely to happen in the near future? Many thanks. Centaur :D |
When
I'm new to Glucose Buddy and think it's pretty good, but was under the impression that you could sync with it online  Now I'm finding out that you can't. :( and that it's been that way for quite some time.
Could you, please, let us know when you'll have a new version out with the sync?!  |
Weight Graph
Why does the graph for weight assume zero on days that you don't weigh in? Makes the graph totally useless. Glucose level graph does not do this! Otherwise i really love this app. Please scale the weight graph to show zoomed in on actually entered weights. Thanks.

Android Issues
Quote:
Issues: • Exported CSV list doesn’t include am/pm or 24-hour format, so no telling what actual time the record was created, and doesn’t sort correctly in Excel. • Exported CSV list doesn’t enclose the value from the “Notes” field in double-quotes, so commas break it into different fields in Excel. • Using GB v1.0 – iPhone version is 3.6.5; I can't find anything on the site about the Android version, it's all about the iPhone. Are upgrades anticipated? CSV Example: 08/01/2013,11:20,BG,Before Lunch,BG,210.0,mg/dL,A 38 pastrami on rye, tomato basil soup Even with the issues, BG is better than the other apps I've tried, including the commercial ones! I just down loaded this app to my Android, it is easy to use, excellent app. However, as everyone else has stated for the past two years, where's the sync.
Reporting could be improved... actually bites. When????????? I would be willing to pay for sync along with the iCrowd. :D |
Three months later and still no synch...where is it??? I would love to have the option, that would make this whole program 100% amazing and make my life 100% easier.
|
Even an import function would be nice. I got a new phone and lost all my entries with the exception that I exported the data prior to upgrading the phone. Now if I could import this data.
|
Is Android supported?
Is the Android version of Glucose Buddy actually supported? Or has it been abandoned?
Thank you, pat---- |
Without Android sync the features of GB are not really all that helpful. Why can't we get an answer to when it is going to be available?
|
Need better handling of quotes & commas when producing export.csv
I've used the "email log" feature to send the logs from the Android GB app to my laptop where I can manipulate the data. The main problem I ran into is that the Notes field isn't quoted so if you have commas in the Notes the import into Excel gets tangled up in its drawers and falls over. Any chance that field quoting (and escapes for quotes in the Notes strings) could be added in a forthcoming update? I've written a short java program to turn the "row per measurement" export.csv into a "row per day" .csv file so I can use Excel and JMP to produce reports & graphs.

I see that the Android app was introduced in 06/2012. It's now 07/2014, some 2 years later. Are you guys ever going to implement syncing for the Android version or should I just give up and look for something else?
I just upgraded my phone. I have 6 months of data on the old one, and as near as I can tell, no way to move it. How about at least telling us where the data is so we can move it ourselves? |
Please respond to Android users

Giving up ... Switching to another app
I love the Glucose Buddy app and have recommended it to my friends and even on Facebook. :) I have patiently waited  for the "coming soon" sync option on my Android. I manually transferred my data from my old phone to my new Droid Razr Maxx two (2) years ago. Well, guess what? My 2-yr contract is up and I'm in the process of deciding on a new phone. It will not be an iPhone so it looks like I will also be shopping for a new Glucose app.
Because of your promise of "coming soon", I have continued to enter my data into the Glucose Buddy app. Now I have over two (2) years of data to try to figure out how to retrieve so that it will be in readable condition. Yes, I add notes and other info so there is much more than just numbers. SkyHealth --- you are NOT my Buddy anymore. You never answer my emails, you never answer our forum questions on this subject, you never came thru on your promise of "coming soon". Therefore, I am TERMINATING our Buddy status. I trusted you! |
I continue to us GB although it apparently does not have a Users Manual or Support. Also the server is most often too busy to allow use of the forum.
I really need to learn how to download data for my doctor MOST preferably in format usable by spreadsheet. In CVS format or any format usable by spreadsheet I can format my data to be most usful by doctor. I am at a loss as to why I am unable to contact SUPPORT!!!! The support address does not work! pottsy |
It is available for the Android and has been for some time. It however does not allow the user to upload to the glucosebuddy webpage. When you go into the glucosebuddy app and go to 'Settings' then 'Sync All Logs' you get the message " Syncing wiht www.glucosebuddy.com will come in a future update. Stay tuned." I've been waiting years and there have been plenty of updates but noever to allow Android users to sync with Glucose Buddy. To put it out like it is fully functional by the author is misleading and down right dishonest. If your not going to let Android users use all the features, then say so instead of implying it is now available for Android users and everthing has been fixed when it has not.

Following the theme
I am new to Glucose Buddy on the computer and to this forum. However I have been using the app on my Android tablet for about a year - very diligently. I have no problem exporting the dara from my tablet to a .csv file. But now that my tablet has reached end of life, I would like to upload my historical logs into the computer application.
I'm not going to request added sync functionality for the Android app. I'm sure that will come when it comes. But an upload function to the computer app would really be useful. Is this currently possible? And if not does this sound like a reasonable enhancement request? |
Well, since there isn't any movement with this Sugar Turtle...... can anyone recommend another app that is good??
|
Disappointment
I've been using Glucose Buddy on my Android phone for a couple of months, believing sync would "come in a future update". Checking here it looks like they've had a couple of years to get it done, so it seems there's not much point in waiting. Time to look for an alternative app before saving more measurements in the black hole...
