Omg 3.5
you have got to be kidding me you PUT ADS IN THE 3.5 I might have to leave this app now im appauled by this. mcdonalds ads nice diabetic touch why not put sugar ads in there while your at it
|
I hate the ads.....
GB--I hate the ads. This is a useful program. I would pay to have the ads go away. Where do I send my .99 cents?
|
I agree i million percent......get rid of the ads. I will pay just get rid of them and very very quickly!!!:(:(:(:(:
|
I DID pay for the "Premium" features...and still have ads. Seriously? Why not be like most every other app developer and remove the ads for people that paid you already?
|
Get over it. You don't have to have the premium features and it is a great free program. You think the development and servers are not free. Who cares if there is a tiny ad. Grow up people.

The Ads
Apparently the ads will be removed from the next update.... Thanks GB

I'm not saying that I like the ad bar or that I agree with the incorporation of the ad bar into the App application, as my opinion was not solicited. However, I will say that the implementation of the ad bar did generate a number of posts from people that very seldom post on this forum. Take a look at the number of posts, in this thread, with a post count of less than ten and for that I say well done. Enough about the negative, lets see some of those positive posts.
|
I say leave the ads if it makes the developer some money, and really cant believe the people throwing a fit about the ads. How much of your time/talent do you like to give away for free?
|
Ads? What ads?
Seriously, folks! Get a life! If the ads bother you, just ignore them. I do. |
ok
Since i started this thread ill go further ... this app is not a game its not a search engine its not business app.. its an app to help manage diabetes and ads for diabetic stuff are one thing , but this app was advertising mcdonalds Mcrib to be exact..JUNK FOOD.. yea diabetics need that...I appauld the fact that the ads are coming off, if the dev. of this needs cash then charge the .99-1.99 for an ad free one.. And one more thing I did purchase the prem. 6 months ago and I have the ADS. (this is pointed twards the gent whos earlier coment was if you have ads you dont have the prem.version)

I also agree that it is long hours and hard work to perfect this app and to make it the very good app that it is today, except that i would like A1C catagory put in to my information on the mobile app, hahahah, However its not that there is advertisement now in the app, its the way it was put there without any notice as to the fact that it might be put there and given the opportunity to tell the developer that we would love an opt out payment . I already pay for the preimum blood pressure and weight, and would even pay more for getting rid of the ad's especially if it would help the developer also. I want this app to continue to grow and be even better in the future and i will pay for that privledge, however something as important as advertisements would be very nice to have fore warning about. Thats just me...:D.....And as far as ignore the ad's....I have accidently hit it twice now, with my finger holding the bottom of the phone, and have opened the browser and it causes quite a delay and frustraition. So that is my answer to those who say just ignore it.

The ads issue
I'm with the no-ads people. I don't like them at all (the ads, that is) and find them irritating, to say the least. If the developer wants to make some money (and I have no problem with that) then why not have a free version with ads for people that don't mind them and a paid version that's ad-free?
I'd be happy to pay, but PLEASE spare me the commercial whoopla every time I record a BG reading. I wouldn't, on principle, succumb to the advertisers' blandishments anyway. As for Dano's plaintive appeal to "...see some of those positive posts": sorry, mate; people sometimes have views that aren't palatable. Regards, as always Adrian Sydney, Australia |

Your analogy fails. I've been a diabetic for close to 30 years, guess what. It's OK to go to McDonalds or burger king or wendy's etc etc etc. It is up to YOU to make smart choices when you go. |
I came to the forum for the first time within 30 seconds of seeing my first ad on GB.
I do understand why ads are there, but I hate them. I almost always invest in no-ad version of an app, if it is available. I sure would for GB, if the price is right. |

I haven't seen any of these adds yet since upgrading to 3.5, but that's because I'm using it 'offline' at the moment. Until I see how invasive these adds are I can't really comment on them specifically, but my general opinion on ads in free apps is as follows:
Criticism of my opinions is fine, but please no flaming ;) |

for size comparison, the add strip is at the bottom and it is about the same size as the grey strip across the top that says Glucose buddy on it. http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/f...ik/photo-1.png |
