ED
Bigtime problem. Doing what I can to solve the issue. Does maintaining a 95-115 blood sugar help or "once its gone," its gone?
|
not gone
I had a similar problem for about a year, and thanks to the blue pill, I got throught that time. I think part of the reason for me was the change in meds and took some time to get used to them. But in any case, talk to your doctor. It can be fully restored.
|
+1 on probably the meds.
Follow the advice of the previous poster "duposg" and Smilin' Bob will have nothing on you. |
I am newly diagnosed, and have had the issue for a couple years. I was in a horrible marriage, and didn't need it to be ready.
Now I am out, and looking at getting back into life. My question is wether gaining control of my glucose levels will allow me to perform once again? Or as the Original poster asked....when it's gone it's gone? I am am picking up my meds this afternoon, and am in the gung ho phase of trying to get my life back under control, so I am thirsting for knowledge. |
OMG, I'm running into the same problem as of late and didnt want to believe Diabetes had a role in it, gonna ask Doctor about the blue pill.
Gotta be better than my idea of putting 2 popsicle sticks and making a splint! :p |
Elevated glucose levels can definitely contribute to ED, however, other things can as well i.e. High Blood Pressure or HBP meds, Anti-depressants, stress of any sort, esp if there is tension between partners, low testosterone levels etc.
So, to quote the TV ads "ask your doctor about... the Side Effects of any medications you are on and about getting a Serum Testosterone level done. BillE |
I am having such a hard time maintaining an erection. Cilias helps sometimes. You see these tv adds for all kinds of mens pills that are natural, like Extenze. Do any of them really work?
|
Does extense work?

Improvement
Hi, after a couple weeks into this illness (I'm type I), reduced BG levels and insulin have brought me back in the game! There is hope. If you have been diabetic for years, have a full blood test for all hormones, as a decrease in them may be the grounds on the limits of desire. I was on testosterone
Before being diagnosed and things are functioning, so it was more the affects of the disease, than my low testosterone (3,65). Good luck in getting back to norm. Tri-dude |
Only viagra in this house
|
Unfortunately high glucose has a big effect on full erections, but with help from Cealis I am able to feel 18 again, I know that is a klesha but it really does work. Excersise also works as losing weight helps regain erection control
|
Me to
I was just diagnosed with diabetes and have the same problem. I talk to my MD and got the little blue pill which does help. Hopefully once everything is under control it will come back to normal.

Problems with Viagra
I have been having the same problems. The nurse practitioner prescribed me Viagra, but one didn't really help and two gave me a super stuffy nose... which sucks because I also have Sleep Apnea and can't use my breathing machine after. :/
Also, as I was saying in my introductions, my blood sugar has been high for a long time (like 240's to 360's) and I am just now in the process of getting it under control. Will reduced blood sugar help with this problem at all? Or have I gone too long (it's been a couple years since I began experiencing the problem)? |

I turned Type 2 23 months ago, weighing in at 355. Now at 225 and have quite the opposite of ED. Have kept blood sugar between 80-105 and work put 4 x weekly. At 50 years old, I think lifestyle change is the difference...
|
Way to go, on loosing the 130 lbs.! I am sure that this made a big difference in everything activity that you undertake.
|
weight
I was diagnosed 2 months ago with type 2, I do not have a weight problem, I am 6' 190lbs. I am however having problems controling my glucose. It has been ranging from a low of 83 to a high of 248 since starting insulin and oral meds. I am averaging 144. So I'm still having ED problems, have the little blue pill but would really like to not have to use them. Any hope in my future?

Congratulations Irvulaj, that is fantastic to loose that much weight, and i wish i could keep my sugar level that low all of the time:D

Thank you every one that has replied. It gives me a reason to get my bg under control.

I’m new here and have diabetes T2.
I’m afraid to share as my previous failed attempts to lose weight make me very frustrated. I have boxes of clothing for when I lose weight and others for when I’m fit. I’m going to be 59 on 3/12/2011. The dreaded 60 are waiting around the corner. I have 6 grand kids. A couple of weeks there was a lot of talking about a program called “50 days” to become fit. I missed the chance to attend the first rally (self sabotage?)! Other co-workers started on it, but not me. I think this set the feeling a bit. Went to the doctor and he preached about controlling my T2. I never used the Meter or the strips provided by my health plan. He had checked me for T level And found me too low on T. My Dr. placed me for a month now on Testosterone patch therapy. My desire and motivation has increased. I’m on my second month. The patches sometimes need to be reinforced with surgical tape. The reason I got into the T thing is because I saw a Dr. on a TV (FOX) health section explaining that the onset of Alzheimer’s’ on men was found to be related to low levels of T? So, out of the blue I asked my Dr. to include that test on my regular blood work ( he just has to put a check marl and presto magic my T was extremely low! Then I found this application for the I phone 4 for glucose tracking and what not! On the 6th, 2011 (super bowl day)! I decided to start another attempt to lose weight! The only difference is that I also decided to check my blood once every night before bed! The measure on the 6th (1st day) was 257! I’m back to eating 6 times a day. On 2/6/2011 my weight was 315! Today is the 10th. I think I’m doing better, but I don’t want to find out yet!. Starting hurts! I don’t want my co-workers to know! I don’t speak about dieting. The difference this time Is that I started to diet not just to lose weight, this time is to keep my T2 under control to improve my sexual life and live longer. I can’t believe I’m using the strips! Hopefully loosing weight will be a fringe benefit! I hope this time the motivation or fear for my T2 will prevail! I have to get what it takes to start walking. The muse is gone for now! Papo |
Welcome to the Forum! :)
Yes, dieting and diabetes is tough! May I make a suggestion. Please read through the Blood Sugar 101 thread in the T2 Section. You may also like to take a look at the Carb Counting 101 thread. Since you are going to diet anyway, why not shoot for lower carbs. This will make a world of difference in your blood sugars and while you are controlling your blood sugar, with less carbs, the weight will just fall off. Just my two cents, your mileage may vary. |
Thanks!
I will check it out! Thanks!

Question
Does anyone have any experience with Extenze? I have been haveing a problem with ED since being diagnosed in Oct. 2010. I have been taking Vigra and it helps some but was wondering if Extenze could help a little more. Thanks
|
If your over 40 you should have your testosterone levels checked. Low levels can make you go from a tigger to a pussy cat and it's all tied to the diabetis.
|
thx
Thanks for the advise fireguy. I will talk with my MD
|
Levitra works the best
|
Calorie counting and long walks have got me almost off all diab. Drugs and the ed drugs also.
|
My mom sent me some name of a vitamin she got from one of her customers, it's supposed to help prevent E.D. has any one heard of Alpha Lipoic Acid before? Email me if you have at moppin64@att.net please. It helps with other things check it out do a search.

I tried all 3 ED meds and none of them worked. My doctor prescribed a med called Trimix. You inject it into the side of the penis. Nice firm erections and I last a lot longer now. Wife likes the results.
|
I'm having problems ED, but I'm pre-diabetic. Been to the doctor about it. The doctor ran testostrone level is normal, but still having problem. Should I get my doctor to send me to urologist or start ED Drugs
|
I'd see your urologist first. Let him give you a thorough examination; then, let him prescribe meds. If drugs (Viagara, etc.) don't work or have side effects, there are other remedies, which your urologist can advise. Good luck
|
Extense??? Does this really help? Can u take it along with Levitra?
|
ED is worst situation of sexual disorder. Peoples with diabetes from long time have more changes of ED problem. But it can be resolved for the period of love making act with strong sexual energy. For more information on ED problem please visit our site: http://www.bluepharmarx.com/

It's a common issue and probably because of the medications that you are taking. Consult your doctor and ask him about the blue pill. It should be fine. You can get more details at online drugstore.

my first post here and in addition to all the other accurate suggestions, do not discount the blood pressure your doc likely put you on to help protect your kidneys if for no other reason. BP meds can have a pretty significant contribution to ED.
Best are the suggestions to get exercise, lose some weight as possible and control the carbs to help reign in the BG levels. All of those can in one fashion or another affect circulation, especially in the periphery. Any pain meds can also help induce or increase the degree of ED. Another thing to look for are AM erections...you know when you have to urinate in the AM and it causes an erection. As long as you still get those to some degree, it's a good sign there is no serious physical damage due to the reduced circulation from the side effects of your BG levels. It's great men can discuss these things today...I know I've come to understand the issues and how fragile and complex that part of our anatomy actually is. Hope things "perk-up" for everyone!! ;) I too experience the issue to varying degrees but have a complex situation and am somewhat enjoying the way things are currently. Though the more I read about HRT (in our case testosterone) for improved general health. It is on my talking points list for my next doc visit but TBH right now the last thing I want is to be all dressed up with no place to go, so to speak. ;) Hang in there guys... ;) |

Don't taking any measure without consulting your doctor. Incorrect treatment will only aggravate the problem. Although, most of the time Ed medications work just fine.
