I never skip breakfast. Maybe somedays I don't eat lunch, but I have to eat breakfast, cuz if I feel sick if I don't. Doctors say that not eating breakfast causes diabetes. It has been made an experiment. There were taken a group of ppl. Doctors gave them the same amount of the same food but some of them ate it in the morning and some others at lunch. The result was that the ppl who ate the food for breakfast lost weight and the others stayed as they were. This happens cuz early in the morning our digestive system works faster and better. Maybe a croissant and some milk would be a good choice.

Until a couple weeks ago when I was diagnosed, I would have a Nurti-Grain bar for breakfast. It turns out to shoot my morning BGL too high.

I tried a couple other breakfast bars that were lower in sugar(one even had 10grams of protein), and even a peanut butter sandwich. All still left my numbers high.

I think I found a winner by having two hard-boiled eggs.

I require my breakfast to be grab-and-go, as I do not have time to sit and eat at home.

Try eating heavy during breakfast. Convert your usual lunch to late breakfast. 1 cup of brown rice, steamed fish or roast beef and veggies for the side dish. During night time, just have a very light meal like 1-2 slices of toasted bread and butter and fruits.

What do you eat for breakfast?

For breakfast, I normally have a cup of coffee and a sandwich. But, for a change, I tried steaming an Asado Siopao for my breakfast today.

The only thing that has worked for me has been protein shakes to start the day. They aren't too heavy, I feel like I'm having a nice treat, and I can keep my BG in the 80 to 90 range all day. I use a whey isolate protein powder (1 scoop), a frozen banana, 1 cup of almond milk, 1 cup of egg whites (from a carton) and I throw all of that in the blender and blend it up! I like to add a tablespoon of peanut butter, too. I drink have of the shake as I get ready for the day, and I take sips of the other have throughout the morning to keep me in good shape and good numbers until lunchtime!

Breakfast

I love a nice bowl of cereal with cold milk in the morning and prefer cereal high in fiber. Sometimes I will have slice of toast. Currently experimenting with a regular jam and sugar free jam for toast. Also experimenting with gluten free cereal to learn how it affects my sugars. Loving the taste and BG readings, but it is not surprisingly low in fiber. My choice of drink is unsweetened tea with lemon.
