I had the sleeve procedure done over two years ago. I saved for it as my insurance denied me several times. I am only 5'-7" and I went from 348 to 289 within the first year. My goal was to get to about 140 - 160. I may be trying to achieve the impossible. I work two jobs so by the time I am off of work, I feel exhausted. Not much time and energy left for exercise.

All of my Type II symptoms went away when I was in the loosing mode but have since gained 10 lbs back. And with that all of my Type II symptoms came back. Not on insulin yet like before. Trying to control it with Metformin 500mg 2/day. Now I wished I had done the bypass as the cost was nearly the same and what appears to be showing better results in many others I know that went with the latter.

So do your research and do once. Unlike me who is in the process of trying to save for bypass procedure now hoping it will be permanent loss of weight and loss of Type II symptoms and meds.

Just had a gastric sleeve and 2 weeks after surgery I am no longer on insulin and no longer in blood pressure meds. I have lost 70 lbs in the last 3 months. Feel great and I have no regrets. It does force you to change your habits of eating. Protein and green is the key. I highly recommend the procedure of it is from a well recognized bariatric surgeon. These surgeons also recommend support groups. Don't blow these off as they are very helpful. Good luck.
