When I got my pump my average bg was 300 now it's about 150 my doctor said if I wanted to go on the pump I could it was totally up to me

Some drs are just not pump friendly I would switch that's what I did to get on the pump :)

Get the pump - especially if your insurance covers it. Yes, you need to work harder in some ways. More testing/etc. but though it does deliver the same insulin, you simply cannot compare 4 (or even more) shots a day to the way you can program your basal along with bolus options like sqaure wave / etc.

Ihavecbeen a Diabetic for 28 years now, and the best decision I ever made related to my Diabetes was going on the pump about 5 years ago. I resisted it for a long time because I didn't want to feel "connected". Before the pump, my A1c was always north of 10...ever since using the pump, it has been right around 7.

He wants to know that you can manage without it because a pump can be dangerous if not handled right
