Thanks. Unfortunately, I cannot use the backup ( I tried but the problem came back). I guess I will have to wait for the 2-way sync feature that is suppose to be coming up soon. I wonder if there is a file that is created separately from the whole iphone backup?

Not that I am aware of. The backup is for everything that is on the iPhone at the time of backup, which includes apps, pics, music, ring tones etc. I had to play with the restore several times to get everything back, since the latest version of the iTunes software was very different than the previous version.

I don't really know what format the GB powers that be have chosen for the two (2) way sync. It should be interesting to say the least.
